Madison Russell has once again been voted in by her peers as Captain for the 2026 season, continuing her outstanding leadership of the program. Russell will wear the No.1 guernsey for a fifth consecutive year and is set to reach the milestone of 50 games as Captain during the upcoming season.
Supporting Russell as Vice Captains are Niamh Davis and Iilish Ross.
A product of West Adelaide’s junior pathway, Davis made her SANFLW debut in 2019 and has developed into a consistent and respected member of the League side. Her persistence and growth over recent seasons have been rewarded with her appointment as Vice-Captain in 2026.
Ross, a former AFLW player with Collingwood and Richmond (21 games), has been a key figure within the program since joining in 2023. Despite injury limiting her to 11 SANFLW appearances, her professionalism, leadership and commitment have had a significant impact on the group.
Rounding out the Leadership Group are Sarah Campbell and Emma Chapman.
Campbell earns her place following her involvement as an Emerging Leader in 2025. A dedicated club person, she continues to set the standard through her team-first approach and willingness to contribute in all areas of the program.
Chapman joins the Leadership Group for the first time after making a strong impression since arriving from North Adelaide in 2024. Her commitment is highlighted by her 2.5-hour commute to training, reflecting the standards she brings to the group.
The club also acknowledges the contributions of Hannah Button, Zoe Venning, Nicola Biagi and Olivia Smith, who were members of the Leadership Group in 2025. While they have chosen not to renominate this season, their impact on the program remains highly valued, and they will continue to play an important role within the group.
