Flood Relief

When donations are asked for, it’s often seen as a constant. This campaign is specifically for a club that has given so much, and in all honesty, hasn’t been gifted the same in return. The significant storm damage and flooding of our changeroom facility on the 16^th May 2026, has impacted us hugely. From a financial perspective, the club has taken significant blows having lost home games, and navigating our way through the gauntlet that is insurance claims. Claims that cross with Council, on the land we lease.

Our grandstand was built in the 1950’s and here we are in 2026 fighting for our right to a much needed investment from all layers of government in order to support the community. Not just the club. The community, the local community that our club contributes to on average every year, in the order of over $10M to just by being here.

West Adelaide Football Club is currently working to restore what we can but ultimately, it might be time to rebuild.

As a foundation member of the SANFL, we are one of South Australia’s most historic football clubs, driven by a strong community, resilience, and a commitment to developing the future talent of the game. We are more than just a football club. We are a place where people belong.

The flood damage has taken away essential spaces that support not only elite football performance, but also grassroots participation, health, wellbeing, as well as a connection for players, volunteers, and members of all ages.

We are raising funds to position ourselves as a financial contributor here at Richmond. To buy in our say and our requirements, so we aren’t left short. So we are a fully functioning and proud SANFL standard club and offering a stage here at Richmond that attracts more games, more groups, and a presence for future growth and AFL interest.

These facilities are the heartbeat of our club – where players prepare, recover and connect, and where the next generation of Bloods develop their love of football and community.
