A clever snap goal from Cohen Denne was enough for North Adelaide to secure a gritty seven-point win against Norwood at Revo Fitness Oval in Round 8 of the AAMI Talent League.
Denne displayed his clean skills when he secured the water-soaked Sherrin to shrug a tackle and put his team in front in the 17th minute of the final quarter.
His Rooster teammates in Blake Amos (19 disposals, six clearances), Bradley Rogers (24 disposals, six clearances) and Jackson Penney (16 disposals) were instrumental in setting up the spirited victory.
The Redlegs’ Eddie Sorensen (28 disposals, one goal), Eddie Graham (22 disposals) and William Tanner (20 disposals) were high among their better performers.
Central District slipped into the top four with a hard-fought 15-point triumph against Sturt at X Convenience Oval.
Seemingly with the game in hand during the first half, the Dogs were seriously challenged when the Double Blues got within two points in the 12th minute of the final quarter.
But consecutive majors to Central’s Alex Friebel and Giusepe Musolino sealed the result as the hosts were well served by Jai De Bais (20 disposals), Callan Semmler (19 disposals) and Riley Sieber.
Sturt midfielder Will Ekberg was his side’s strongest contributor with 26 disposals and eight clearances while he received solid support from Lachlan Estcourt-Hughes (16 disposals, 10 marks) and Angas Moyse.

Woodville-West Torrens produced a stunning fourth-quarter fightback to upset Glenelg by 33 points at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
Trailing at every change throughout the contest, the Eagles displayed plenty of persistence to slam on 6.3 to the Bays’ two behinds in the final term.
Eagles Romario Clemente (24 disposals, one goal), Harvey O’Brien (16 disposals, two goals) and Noah Ah Chee (21 disposals) were key architects in the surprise comeback.
Glenelg’s Kobe Gibson refused to give in as he tallied 35 disposals and three goals while Evan Clark and Josh Jarrad (three goals) battled hard.
South Adelaide survived a sudden surge from West Adelaide to hold on by seven points at Magain Stadium.
The Panthers were cruising to victory whilst leading by 28 points at the final change but the Bloods made them sweat as they booted 3.3 while keeping the hosts without a score in the fourth quarter.
South officials hailed the performances of Kai Clark (17 disposals, 10 marks), Dale Shearer and Hudson Boal (23 disposals) in setting up the win across the opening three terms.
West’s Lachlan Tasker, Andrew Crispe (18 disposals) and Laurence Andriani (30 disposals, 14 clearances) were promient figures in their team’s last-gasp flurry.
