Jackson Edwards heads West

The West Adelaide Football Club is happy to announce another key signing. Former Father-Son Rookie with the Adelaide Crows, Jackson Edwards, will join the red & black in 2022.
Jackson has played for Glenelg these last two seasons since finishing up with the Crows and the 22-year-old has already played 31 league games in that short period of time. He demonstrates great athleticism and can play in a number of positions. Brad Gotch has known Jackson and the family for many years and the two can’t wait to work together in 2022. His father, Tyson Edwards, also played for West Adelaide from 1995-1998.
Jackson is excited by the potential West Adelaide presents, “I’m looking forward to some good opportunities down here at the Bloods. They have a good young list and have brought in some good leadership too, so I am keen to follow in my dad’s footsteps and play with Westies.”
He is motivated to play more finals football and is eager to play with some familiar faces, “I’d like to play some finals footy again. I was able to experience that with Glenelg in the reserves last year so it would be great to see West push in both grades to play finals next year. I’m happy to be joining Callum Park who has also come over from Glenelg and I’ve also known Hamish Hartlett for a while, who is a great recruit for the Club, so I’m excited to be playing with him too.”
We believe Jackson will be a great fit for the Club and we are thrilled to welcome the entire Edwards family back to the Bloods!
