Mark Mickan Update

Mark Mickan Update - by Bernie Conlen

As you all may know by now a year after West Adelaide won the SANFL Premiership our coach Mark Mickan was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

Since then life has been a battle for Mark & his wife Callie. Mark hasn’t been able to work from late last year with Callie having to care for him. Last Saturday Mark underwent an operation, in Melbourne, to ease the tremors throughout his body & so far the signs are looking promising
but he has a long way to go. The operation isn’t a cure but a pause as Mark will always live with Parkinson’s.
A group of people have got together to try & assist the Mickan family. Mark has excepted the help being offered so long as Parkinson’s SA were also beneficiaries from any help received.

Mark will be in Melbourne for 6 weeks & in that time we are trying to give Mark’s home a well overdue makeover to help Marks recovery & assist his movements throughout his home.
The response received so far has been overwhelming but we need a fair bit more.
I have listed below some of the areas which we need to fill.

If you think you could help us in anyway please contact me on Mob: 0418800265
As you can imagine, although financial support for this project would be fantastic,
any money received would be directed to the Mickan family & Parkinson’s SA.

In a couple of months we are planning a fund raising event for Mark & Parkinson’s SA.
As soon as I can confirm a date & venue I will let you all know.

Areas which would be of assistance:

Trades:
Bobcat & Dumper
Landscapers
Bathroom Tiler
Carpenters

Materials:
Heating and cooling system
Tiles
Shower rose
Pavers
Decking
Lawn

Kindest Regards
