Vale John Frederick Hamilton

The West Adelaide Football Club & Past Players & Officials, are saddened to announce the passing of John “Jack” Hamilton.

A wake will be held this Friday (January 20) 2pm, in the Mound Bar at the West Adelaide Football Club

Jack passed away peacefully Saturday morning January 14 after a short illness.

John (Jack) Frederick Hamilton was player 652 and made his debut on Saturday September 2 1950. Jack played a total of 125 games (19 League games) for the club between 1950 – 1957.

Not only was Jack a player but he also donated so much of his time as a volunteer post playing career. Spanning 25 years of service to the club.

In 1957 Jack won the Reserves Best & Fairest, which would be his final season.

His significant contribution as a volunteer, included roles as Reserves Trainer 1959-61, Reserves Committee 1967-68, Reserves Chairman 1969-70, League Committee 1970-72 & Past Players & Officials Secretary in1969. He was also an integrate part of the Past Players throughout the 60s.

Jack was awarded Life Membership in 2021. His speech orchestrated how much the club (players and all people involved) meant to him. He will always be remembered for his great contribution to the West Adelaide Football Club.
