Former player and West Adelaide captain Tom Keough has accepted a dual role at the club as both our Country Academy Coordinator (River Murray) and Talent & Youth Mentor (Centre of Excellence).
Tom’s extensive playing experience at both AFL and SANFL level, combined with his teaching and coaching background makes him the perfect fit for this role. Tom will work alongside Russell Godson (Talent Manager & U18 Coach) to ensure our players receive the best education possible as they progress through our talent programs. Tom will work with a selected group of players to fast track their development as well as the wider U18 group at times during the year.
“I’m very excited to be back at the club and supporting our talented young players” said Tom.
“We have a lot of dedicated and enthusiastic players coming through the junior ranks and I’m hoping to add some additional support them in our already strong Centre of Excellence program”.
“As a player who came through the country development programs, I’m also really looking forward to working in the River Murray Footy League and building relationships with clubs and players”.
“I’m excited to support our new country zone and promote the club whilst developing the younger players who aspire to reach the next level with West Adelaide”.
CEO, Conny Wilson is extremely pleased to see former players returning to the Club and giving back. “Tom has had a longstanding relationship with West Adelaide, and is highly respected and talented player. Our emerging players will no doubt be absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Tom”.
The River Murray is an important addition to our zone and we are fully committed to ensuring the region is given the attention it deserves. We look forward to meeting the players and parents from the region and involving them in our programs.
