SANFLW Indigenous Round

We are proud to celebrate the inaugural SANFLW Indigenous Round with Central District FC this weekend.

As part of the day we will have Uncle Moogy perform a traditional Welcome to Country.

We will also partake in a gift exchange before the League match. Our gift to Central District is a football painted specially by Monica Turner-Collins, proud Arrernte/Anmatyerr Warlpiri young woman visiting on Kaurna land.

Each section of the football represent a significant meaning;

AFL football quarter artwork: this represents ALL players of the West Adelaide Football Club together.Circle dot half: this represents the wider West Adelaide FC community, coaches and support staff that play a role in driving the West Adelaide Football Club forward.Women’s symbol quarter: this represents the female leadership coming together at the oval on the day with the waters and paths they have travelled to get to where the are today.

This round is an important round for all as it is a great opportunity to further educate everyone on the significance of Indigenous culture both in the game of football and in our broader community.
