Preliminary Final loss brings SANFLW season to an end

Congratulations to our SANFLW team who for the first time since the commencement of the Statewide Super competition were successful in making the Finals Series. Unfortunately we couldn’t get over the line in the Preliminary Final against South Adelaide on Sunday, which will see us finish 3rd on the table.

Thank you to 1st year coach Mark Moody for his efforts with the women and the positive path he has set our team on. Mark has committed to coaching the women’s team in 2021 and the club is excited to have him continue at West Adelaide.

Football manager Wayne Siekman said, “Since joining the club as the Senior Coach of our SANFLW team Mark has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge especially from Women’s football and this has been seen through the players’ performance this season.”

“The way they have stepped up and started to build a fantastic culture and a place where others will want to be a part of in the future is a great testament to him, his coaching group and the players.”

“There is a wide range of age groups on our list, from 15-40 year olds, Mark’s ability to communicate and develop all players has been a great result.”

“The energy he brings and shares with the group has had a positive outcome and we are proud of the way the season has gone and look forward to taking further steps forward in 2021.”

The Best & Fairest count for the WAFC SANFLW team will be held at the club on Saturday September 5.
