Porps Returns to the Crows

After more than four years in the role of Talent Manager at the West Adelaide Football Club, we will be saying goodbye to Jason Porplyzia.

Jason has accepted a role at the Adelaide Football Club where he will be working with the Next Generation Academy and acting as the Runner for the AFL side on game day.

Jason retired from SANFL football at the end of 2018 after winning a premiership in 2015, becoming a player life member in 2017 and being selected in the West Adelaide Team of the Centuries in 2018.

“This footy club is a second home to me, it’s where it all started and where my playing career finished. I will be forever grateful for what the club has done for me”

“Working with juniors has been extremely rewarding to be able to watch some of these kids progress and become better players. Having to opportunity to play alongside some of the juniors I originally worked with was a great feeling.”

Senior coach Gavin Colville said “Having gotten to know Jason over the past three years as a player, leader and club administrator, I am not at all surprised by his success.”

“His composed and quiet demeanour masks a fierce competitive spirit and will to succeed.”

“I have nothing but the highest admiration for Jason as a player, leader and person and I am sure all our coaching and playing group feel the same.”

CEO Ben Hopkins also acknowledged Jason’s work as the Talent Manager, “Jason has developed fantastic relationships throughout the football club and community during his time as the Talent Manager.  He is held in high regard in the SA footy industry and he’ll most certainly be missed by the West Adelaide Football Club.”

From all at Westies, we wish Jason and his family all the best in the future.
