Eight Bloods have been selected in the 2021 Torrens University SA U17 Squad in the lead up to this year’s AFL U17 National Championships.
Under 18s coach Paul Streatfield spoke about the selected players saying, “having eight players selected in the initial squad is a great acknowledgement for the work these young men have done to date.”
“As a club we are always looking to raise the bar in the way we approach our programs and these players have led from the front in their pursuit of continuous improvement.”
“The upcoming state program will provide great opportunity for these men to showcase their natural ability and we know their professionalism and training standards will hold them in good stead for this process.”
Training will start on June 1st with the squad playing an internal trial match at Thebarton Oval on Friday June 11th. The squad will then be cut down to 30 players for the AFL National Championships.
South Australia will play its first game against Western Australia on Sunday June 20 at Hisense Arena before heading to Queensland to tackle Victoria Metro on Tuesday July 6 and Victoria Country on Friday July 9.
Congratulations to all our players on being selected.
