Ando’s Match Report – QF V North Adelaide

Not the result that we wished for and the outcome we wanted for our supporters and footy club. Finals is a completely different ball game to the home and away season in many ways, and as a group we struggled with many aspects particularly in the second half that you can’t compromise on in big games.

We are extremely disappointed with the way we played in the second half. The challenge is set now for us to analyse what the issues are in our game that need to be rectified quickly, or our season will be lost.

The performance we showed on the weekend is not us and not what we stand for as a young group. Both the players and coaches want our season to continue for as long as possible. A successful season doesn’t always have to be a clean one, teams can have ups and downs, but its what you do and how you approach the downs that defines your season. And I know our season will continue after this week.

Although the second half was not up to scratch, we had some moments during the first that show we a capable of mixing it with the best, with the challenge of putting it together for 4 Quarters.

Luke Redfern was outstanding early in the game with some real drive and penetration by foot out of the defensive half. Oscar Steene continued to show his huge development over the season playing a big role for us around the ground and impacting in the air. Kobe Ryan stood out from the pack with some of his skills and ability to compete and put his head over the footy.

We’ve been set the challenge to respond and bounce back. We’ve accepted it and look forward to it. Hoping to see as many supporters as possible on Saturday, because we owe you all one for coming out last week to Prospect.
