The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Alison Surjan as Female Football Director to the Board.
We look forward to Alison making a significant impact in the development of all women who want to be involved in football here at West Adelaide.
“I’m thrilled to be appointed to the Female Football Director position” said Alison.
“It’s an honour to be recognized this way, and for me to be able to help this brilliant club through the most significant transition and embed the female football program here is something I have aspired to be part of for some time. For all the opportunities that this presents, both now and in the future, for girls and women to take an active role within a football club, I am inspired by all the women in my life as well as my daughter. I am honoured to be a part of this change and assist with the growth and development for all women who once only wondered if they would or could participate in this environment.”
President Murray Forbes also acknowledges the importance of having a Female Football Director to give women the best program possible.
“It’s a real pleasure to welcome Alison Surjan onto the Board of West Adelaide Football Club as our inaugural Female Football Director. It is the first time that any SANFL club has appointed someone to this position, and it highlights the importance that Westies places on Women’s footy”.
“We are a foundation Club in this space, so it is logical that we would be the first to appoint someone to the Board to cover this position”.
“Alison comes from a background which is deeply entrenched in football club culture and is a well-respected business professional. We look forward to her involvement in this exciting new path for our Club”.
Welcome to the Bloods Alison
