Under 16 Coach Appointment

The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Patching as our U16 Head Coach for the 2022 season.

With the SANFL U16 Torrens University Cup expanding to a full-length season in 2022 we are thrilled to secure someone of Scott’s calibre to this important role in our football department.

On his appointment to the role, Scott says ‘I’ve seen tremendous growth in the Centre of Excellence program since joining in 2019 and am excited by the opportunity to lead the U16 program in an expanded season in 2022. The interaction and support through the football department from the senior coach down has added to the appeal of this role and I look forward to helping young West Adelaide players develop and progress through the football pathway’.

Scott has been an assistant coach in our U18 program for the past 3 seasons and prior to that spent time at both the South Adelaide and Woodville West Torrens Football Clubs in their development and talent programs. Scott has also spent the best part of 10 years working in the football industry in various roles at SANFL clubs and at SANFL.

Talent Manager Paul Streatfield says ‘It is fantastic for our club to secure the appointment of Scott for this exciting role. Scott has been a key contributor to our club for a number of years and the progression for him to now coach his own team is a reflection of the high regard we hold him in’.

Scott’s appointment coincides with the reappointment of Paul Streatfield to the role of U18 Coach for the next two seasons.
