Vale Frank Hogan

The West Adelaide Football Club and the Past Players and Officials are sorry to share the news of Frank Hogan’s passing.

Frank passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at the age of 88, with his family by his side. Born on October 28, 1936, Frank joined West Adelaide in 1960 after spending two years with VFL club South Melbourne, where he played 12 games and scored 6 goals. He was a favorite of Neil Kerley, who wasn’t usually a fan of rovers or Victorians, but he had a special liking for Frank. He played three seasons with the Bloods and was part of the 1961 Premiership team.

Frank played 58 games and racked up 120 goals. In 1963, he took on the coaching role at Tatura Football Club and later enjoyed success with the Wangaratta Rovers, winning two Ovens and Murray Football League premierships in 1964 and 1965. In 1966, he coached Beechworth Football Club and led Redan Football Club to the runners-up spot in the Ballarat Football League in 1967. Frank Hogan will be greatly missed at West Adelaide. He often traveled from Cranbourne, Victoria, to join us for reunions.

Our thoughts are with the Hogan family and his many friends during this time.
