Sam Elliott announced as Head of Development and Reserves Coach

Exciting news keeps on coming! Please welcome Sam Elliott to the West Adelaide Football Club as our Head of Development and Reserves Coach.

Sam has an impressive background in football and coaching which includes success with South Gambier FC, Glenelg FC, Broadview FC, Edwardstown FC and South Adelaide FC (including the 2021 U16 and 2023 U18 premierships).

Sam is a level 3 Accredited Coach and an Associate Professor in Sport at Flinders University where he has a combined 18 years of study, research and teaching experience in athlete psychosocial development.

“The opportunity to help fast-track the development of this list is really exciting and I can’t wait to support Harts and the broader club get back to where we want to be.” said Sam.

“I am grateful for my time at South Adelaide over the past six seasons. It’s been a thorough apprenticeship in football and has allowed me to hit the ground running at Westies”

Sam will work closely alongside Adam Hartlett (League Coach), Paul Streatfield (Head of Football & Talent) and Justin Schultz (Head of Strength & Conditioning) to prepare the senior men’s group for a big 2025 season.
