On Saturday our Under 16’s played South Adelaide for the third time at Hisense Stadium.
With 16 changes to the previous weeks line up it was always going to be a big ask to find chemistry amongst the playing group against a South Adelaide side that is not greatly affected by the College program. Throughout the match our boys never lacked intent and or effort and across the 4 quarters they gave a good representation of themselves. Unfortunately, at critical moments we could not capitalise on South’s mistakes whereas they made us pay for poor skill execution and fundamental decision-making resulting in shots on goal. While the result of 74 points in South’s favour does not look good from an outsider’s view, the contest and game was much closer. If not for not some poor finishing in front of goals from our boys kicking 3 goals 10 points the final margin would have been smaller.
Our Captain continues to be the shining light this season and rarely plays a poor game and provides an excellent example to the rest of the team to the level of consistency that is expected. Ryan finished his work with 28 possessions, 10 clearances, 6 tackles and a superb on the run goal to provide good drive from the midfield. Two Under 15’s Ted Seagar 13 touches, 6 clearances, 4 tackles and Harry Banks 20 touches where significant contributors across the day.
We have this upcoming weekend off, we will continue to work hard and stay connected in preparation for our return home game against Eagles on August 10.
