New Women’s Senior Coach Announcement

The West Adelaide Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Bruce Dawes as it’s new Women’s Senior Coach for season 2023.

The club was overwhelm with applications for the role and during the interview process Bruce was a clear standout, his quality of character, experience as a previous senior coach of a SANFLW club clearly stood out and we couldn’t be more happier that he accepted the role to take us forward into 2023.

Bruce comes to West Adelaide from Sturt where he coached the double blues for season 2020 and 2021 before having to stand down in January 2022. The success and the culture that he was able to instil at Sturt was clear for everyone to see from an outsider looking in and the results of Sturt to go from last to 2^nd in the space of only two years goes to show you the qualities of Bruce as a Senior Coach and the development plans he had for individuals and the team.

“There’s a lot of talent in this current group and with the exceptional player development program West Adelaide have, there’s a lot of young talent coming through which is exciting!”
