Vale Maurice Cappo

The West Adelaide Football Club is sad to inform you the passing of past player and long time sponsor, Maurice Cappo.

Maurice commenced his association with West Adelaide in 1956 playing in the U18’s.

He made his first senior appearance in round 14 1959 against Port Adelaide at Alberton, aged 21. Maurice was hampered by injuries throughout the 1959 season, playing only 3 games.

West Adelaide has a wealth of talent during those years with Maurice playing his 4th and final senior game in 1961, our premiership year.

The Cappo family name is renowned all over Adelaide and South Australia for their Seafood company and the West Adelaide Football Club were fortunate to have Cappo Seafood as a sponsor over many years.

Our thoughts are with Carmel, the Cappo family and friends.

The family and friends of Maurice Cappo have advised that his funeral mass will be held at the St Ignatius Catholic Church (137 William Street, Norwood) on Tuesday July 4 at 11am, 2023.
