The West Adelaide Football Club and Past Players and Officials are sad to announce the passing of 1961 Premiership Player and Life Member Leon Lovegrove.
Leon played 129 games for West Adelaide (1952 – 1961) with his last game being the 1961 Grand Final. In 1952 Leon was awarded the Sam Suckling medal for Best First Year Player and was awarded Life Membership in 1958.
Leon was heavily involved with West Adelaide after he finished playing by becoming a League selector in 1962 as well as a board member and chairman of the West Adelaide Junior League in 1963 to 1964.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Leon.
