The West Adelaide Football Club and its Past Players and Officials, are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of our dear friend
and devoted club member, Robert (Bobby) Shoolbread.
Bobby passed away early on the morning of the 12th of July 2025, after a long fight with cancer at the age of 81.
He joined the West Adelaide Football Club in 1976, as a statistician, and kept that role until 1998, serving for 24 years.
Later, like many from our club, Bobby moved to the newly established Adelaide Crows, where he continued as a stats man.
In 2022, Adelaide honoured him with Life Membership for his dedication and hard work.
Bobby’s battle with cancer was tough, but he always kept fighting until the very end. He was loved by everyone, especially Kerls,
who often called him Fighting Harada, after the famous Japanese boxer.
Our thoughts go out to the Shoolbread family and all of Bobby’s friends.
Those who knew him, will understand just how special he was.
