The West Adelaide Football Club, along with the Past Players & Officials, mourns the passing of Alan McCarthy at the age of 82.
Wearing the number 30 jersey and recognized as player number 785, Alan made his debut on April 16, 1966, in a match against Glenelg at the Bay.
Over the course of two years with West Adelaide, he participated in eight league games, scoring one goal, and appeared in 36 reserve matches.
Back in 1963, Alan played for the West C grade team, where he was noted for his strong presence in the rucks and earned the distinction of being named the third best player.
His dedication and efforts left a lasting mark on the club.
During this difficult time, the club extends its deepest sympathies to the McCarthy family and Alan’s many friends.
His contributions will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
