We travelled to X Convenience Stadium for our Round 7 fixture.
The opening quarter saw both teams engaged in a defensively competitive battle, resulting in limited offensive opportunities. However, once Centrals secured their first goal, it exposed some challenges in our stoppage play, allowing them to dominate territory and capitalize on scoring chances for the remainder of the term.
The second quarter followed a similar pattern, with our inability to apply sufficient pressure on the ball leading to Centrals converting high-percentage scoring shots. By halftime, we found ourselves with only 3 scoring opportunities compared to Centrals’ 19.
During the halftime break, the team conducted themselves admirably, focusing on key areas of improvement which translated well into the second half.
Ayden Hodgson’s performance was particularly noteworthy, especially in the latter half of the game, earning him recognition as our standout player by the coaching staff. Fraser Morley also delivered his strongest performance of the year, while Tom Kain continued to showcase his defensive prowess. Jonty Koehne provided valuable speed around the ball, and Ben Jeffries demonstrated commendable competitiveness in defence
Next week we face Glenelg at Hisense Stadium after the under 16’s fixture on Saturday.
