Round 3 saw us travel to Glenelg and play in wet conditions.
Glenelg got away to a good start having four shots on goal in the first 5 minutes. We then improved our contest work to force a ‘stalemate’ for the next 17 minutes of the game. Glenelg were then able to score a late goal in the first quarter to take a 20 – 0 lead.
The second quarter our team defence improved and we had some good time in our forward half scoring 2.3 to Glenelg’s 2.2. Again, throughout the second half it was a similar scenario as we continued to defend well in the wet conditions and took some of the opportunities we created scoring 4.5 to 3.4.
Will Patton, again defended well and adapted very well in the wet conditions. He was judged best for the second week in a row. Paddy O’Donoghue again played well while Judd Hansen played his best game for the season so far.
In round 4 we play against Centrals at Hisense Stadium. Centrals have played well in the first three rounds, therefore it will be a good test for our group again. We’re showing good signs of improvement each week and we aim to continue the trend.
Best: Will Patton, Padrick O’Donoghue, Judd Hansen, Jaden Ward
Goals: Judd Hansen (3), Caleb McCormick, Jonty Koehne, Jaden Ward (1)
