Our Round 16 fixture we hosted South Adelaide at Hisense Stadium on Wednesday night.
The first quarter our intent was good but our structure at stoppage let us down which put the defenders under pressure for most of the quarter and we went into quarter time 0.1 to 5.3.
After quarter time the midfielders did an excellent job at the stoppages against some class players and we were able to get some good ball movement going resulting in us scoring 5.3 to 1.2 for the quarter.
After half time the opposition took away a bit more time and space from us but we fought back really well through the middle third of the quarter. This pattern continued through the last quarter with South Adelaide getting some good scoring chains going but again I thought we stuck to our tasks well.
Riley Hill continued his good season playing well on the wing. Max McKenzie benefited from some quicker ball movement and won his fair share of one on one contests. Charlie Haysman is another who contributed with a good performance. Sam Burbridge responded very well from a disappointing first quarter to have a heavy influence on the game and Oscar Talbot defended well throughout the game.
Our next game is on Saturday August 12 against Glenelg at Stratarama Stadium.
