Round 14’s game against Central Districts saw us win our first game of the year.
We started well again with a high level of defensive pressure and structure which allowed us to keep the ball inside our forward half for a majority of the quarter. Kade Hilton kicked 2 early girls to give us a 4 goal lead at the first break.
The second quarter saw Centrals ramping up the pressure which resulted in us struggling to get territory but we were able to remain defensively solid for the majority and went into the second half leading by 5 points.
The second half was a back and fourth contest with both sides exchanging goals in a high pressure match played between the arch’s. During this period we were able to kick some crucial goals. This game saw our best overall performance from the whole team as we executed the fundamentals well over the entire 4 quarters to end up with a 20 point victory.
Kade Hilton was electric kicking 4 goals from 14 disposals earning himself MVP of the round, while ruckman Carter Wright was very good around the ground and in the air and Padrick O’Donoghue’s return to under 18’s was excellent with 20 disposals and 8 marks.
