It’s been a terrific first half of the season for our Under 14s, and I couldn’t be happier of the way the boys have gone about their footy. From day one, they’ve brought a fantastic attitude, a willingness to work hard, and a real team-first approach. Whether it’s been on game day or at training, their effort and commitment to improving has been outstanding and all we can ask for as coaches. They’ve embraced feedback, pushed themselves, and shown a real hunger to develop their skills and game understanding.
So far, we’ve played four high-quality games, and the standard of footy has been excellent. Our most recent match against Norwood was a real standout, and one of the best displays of Under 14s football I’ve seen. The way the players are moving the ball, supporting each other, and playing the West Adelaide brand is a credit to the work they’ve put in at training. It’s been great to see their confidence grow each week as they take on new challenges and continue to develop as a team.
Now that we’re at the halfway point of the short season, there’s still plenty to learn, but the future looks incredibly bright for the squad. We’ve got a talented group of players coming through, but more importantly, we have a great group of young people who are building strong habits both on and off the field. The energy within the group has been fantastic, and the way they celebrate each other’s success also speaks volumes about their character. The coaches and I are really enjoying coaching a terrific group of players and are excited for the remaining games.
