We welcomed three U18’s (Sam Burbridge, Hamish Dow and Will Ashton) into our side this week.
All three boys played their roles well and definitely didn’t look out of place at the level.
This week we adjusted the way we wanted to move the ball offensively to try and help us improve in the areas we are looking to get better in. While also allowing us as coaches to be able to educate the better in these areas.
We executed the plan well for the first quarter and a half, especially in the first 15 mins of the game where we were able to keep the ball in our front half for the majority of it.
Centrals were able to get a couple of late goals in the second, one after the siren, which gave them a handy lead in a low scoring match at half time.
We seemed to lose our way a bit in the third. Centrals lifted their work rate and our boys weren’t able to go with them for the majority of the second half. We lost our shape outside of the contest and in transition which allowed Centrals to score far too easily and poor skill execution was a factor on the day from our end.
When we executed our plans, we were able to play some good footy. When we lost our concentration we struggled to contain Centrals ball movement. There will be some good vision where we can educate the boys during the week and look forward to taking on a good side in Glenelg next Saturday.
Thank you to all the supporters who came out to watch and to all our support staff who helped fill various roles on the weekend.
