Development League Match Report – Round 1

After a long and grueling preseason, the week that we were waiting for finally arrived. An opportunity to put all the work we have been doing since October into action.

Unfortunately, we didn’t quite get off to the start we had hoped. With a few players being managed and an extended League squad for their first trial match, there was an opportunity for us to play some on our junior train on players and give them a chance to play senior football at West Adelaide.

We were proud to unveil 15 new players in our Development League team, with only 4 players above 18-years-old it was a great opportunity to expose some of our kids to SANFLW football. We came up against a very solid Glenelg outfit and in the end their experience and composure were too much for us to handle.

This week, we look forward to the challenge of coming up against Central District, and welcome back a few more senior players from the injury list.
