COCHES REPORT: Wheelchair League – R3

Another tough outing in Round 3 against a well-polished Norwood side.

Coming into the game, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy.

Once again, the score line doesn’t reflect the effort and fight the team showed across four quarters.

During the week at training, we stripped things back and focused on the basics to emphasise a play style that suits us. It was evident that the team bought into this approach, and it was great to see our hard work translate onto the court, especially in some seamless transitions from the back half to the front half, leading to a goal.

Our second quarter was a standout, proving that we can match it with top teams like Norwood. We kept them to 4 goals 2 while scoring 2 goals 1 ourselves. That quarter will be a big focal point for the team and a valuable confidence boost. This team has shown a lot of heart over the last three weeks. The growth and cohesiveness of this group are improving week by week. I

I believe this will continue and eventually lead to West Adelaide’s first-ever win in the Wheelchair AFL competition.
