West Adelaide 9.8.62
South Adelaide 9.12.66
We must acknowledge the tale of two halves. We were comprehensively outworked early – having not kicked a goal to half time and trailing the disposal count by 40, -24 uncontested marks, -9 tackles, and clearly second to the ball in contested possession. We didn’t absorb pressure well and fundamentally weren’t up to the level required.
The second half was a different story. We flipped the script: +48 in disposals, +28 in uncontested marks, and we led the contested possession count. That shift came from a collective lift in work rate, accountability, and trust in our system.
We played to the intensity required for half a game and went down by 4 points.
It’s frustrating, no doubt. Because there’s evidence – strong evidence – that we can play high-level football. But we must become a four-quarter side. One that doesn’t need to be 39 points down to find its edge.
We’ll review, reset, and keep building.
