Over the past month, our young group has started to play some exciting football but have not been able to put it together for as long as we would have liked. We spoke about this during the week and our focus for the remainder of the year is to “Play for Longer” both physically and mentally.
Unfortunately, I thought some of our group took a step back in that regard this week and didn’t live up to our values for long enough which admittingly we have been good in the past weeks. We will get to work on this during the week and make sure that we get back to the brand of football we know we can play, and our supporters expect.
Credit to Centrals, they kept up their work rate and intensity for 4 quarters and when ours dropped it allowed them to take control after halftime.
Jed Obst led from the front all day and put his body on the line to be our best player for the match. Jordan White continued his excellent form down back and was not beaten all day and Michael Laudato had his best game since coming back to the reserves and finished with 3 goals.
I look forward to seeing how the boys respond against ladder leaders Glenelg this weekend at the bay.
