Our main focus over the past few weeks has been to make sure as a reserves group that we are living by our Creed which includes giving 100% effort, 100% of the time. We feel this had slowly dropped away and wanted to get this back at the forefront of our reserves program.
Although disappointed with the final result on Saturday going down by a goal, I feel as a playing / coaching group we showed the work rate required to be in games for longer and if not for fundamental errors in critical moments during the game, we could have walked away with the win.
If we can continue to bring this effort week in / week out and stick to the process, then the scoreboard will take care of itself going forward.
Jye Sinderberry has been a welcome addition back into the team the past few weeks after missing a lot of football through injury and was a rock in defence all day. Jed Obst continued his good form with another impressive display and has gone to another level since taking on the role as Captain the past few weeks. Jesse Thackeray also continued his breakout season with a 27 disposal, 8 tackle and 9 clearance performance in the midfield.
The boys have earnt a well-deserved break which will freshen up both the players and coaching staff before we attack the second part of the season.
