Unfortunately on Saturday we let an opportunity slip. Playing against a good side like North Adelaide we knew we had to win contested ball and be able to nullify their ability to possess the football by cutting off their kicking game.
As a group we played into their hands slightly by not being the brave, bold side we’ve been over the last fortnight. On Saturday we went into our shells slightly and didn’t get the game onto our terms. We will review this during the week to show the difference of how exciting we play when we are confident and up and about compared to the way we played on Saturday.
We reflected after the game and spoke strongly about how we need to look at what went wrong for us to learn and use it as a good stepping stone to finish the home and away season and take some good confidence leading into the final series.
Saturday wasn’t all doom and gloom; it was great to see Isaac Johnson back from a broken leg. A great character of our squad and to have him running around is a huge lift for us as a team.
Cooper Patterson again showed his strong improvements down back. Harvey Bock was outstanding defensively.
Cade Kennedy showed some real class in the first half and Michael Laudato always brings huge excitement to the team.
We understand what went wrong for us on Saturday and understand we need to move on quickly and get ourselves ready for this week vs Norwood.
Looking forward to bouncing back and finishing off the home and away series in front of our supporters who have been so good this year in their support and encouragement of our young group. Hopefully paying it back by finishing off with two great wins for the senior squad.
