Coming into the match on Saturday our focus was to perform at the right level from opening bounce, putting together a complete game.
It didn’t take long to see the boys were up for the challenge, with Sam May kicking a goal within the first couple of minutes and the energy within the group was amazing to see.
We were challenged as a group several times in patches, however our ability to settle and get the game back on our terms was pleasing for a young team.
I felt our brand was on display for the whole 104 minutes – relentless attack on the footy, ability to defend a good opposition and brave high-speed ball movement.
We met our objective which was putting together a 4 quarter performance, resulting in us winning the game by 47 points.
It was exciting to see Nic Couroupis back from injury, showing his class even after a long stint on the sidelines. Nick Steele was fantastic up forward kicking 4 goals. Connor Fairlie played a great role for the team. Frane Babic was dominant in the ruck and is showing his continual improvement each week. Lyndon Hupfeld and Cooper Patterson controlled the back half while Charlie Allan, Lachie Squire and Reed Stevens all had good performances.
Thanks as always for the support on game day, it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.
