I felt it was a much better effort over the full four quarters from our team as we went up against an emerging team in Centrals. Having won 2 of their last 3 games they have the confidence and belief that we are searching for.
Had we taken more of our goal scoring opportunities especially late in the 2nd quarter & at times during the 2nd half, the belief may have grown, but we didn’t. Centrals to their credit did and that eventually put them at a comfortable winning distance.
Very pleased to debut another two players in Clayton Gay (3 Goals) and Ruckman Harry Barnett who look to have very bright futures ahead of them. Neither of these 2 let us down & if anything Clayton Gays debut was quite special when you really contemplate it all. Also another game to youngster Kobe Ryan and he also played very well. Patrick Fairlie was best on ground again and is showing great form,. Hamish Hartlett played arguably his best game for the season so that’s promising with five to play. Joel Stevens and Hamish Ellem showed elements of their exceptional talent with Ellem putting himself in contention for goal of the week with that 3rd quarter solo effort.
We move on now to Port Adelaide, hopefully having learnt some lessons from our last encounter in Loxton where we pushed them all the way. We will go to work on trying to emulate most of the good moments for longer, looking for that break through four quarter performance that we know will give us the best chance to succeed. Stick with us & hopefully we see many of the faithful at Hisense Stadium this Saturday afternoon.
Best Players: Patrick Fairlie, Hamish Hartlett, Clayton Gay
