Unfortunately with the 2 outs of our Vice Captains Josh Ryan (Concussion) & Kaiden Brand (H&S protocols) it took a little while for the backs to settle and we had to move Keough who kicked 4 last week back to help steady the ship after a 3 goal to nil Eagles start.
From there we outscored the eagles 7 goals to 5 and showed some true grit & determination to stay in the contest, and with some better skills & decision making who knows what might of happened?
I was super impressed with the third game of Josh Carmichael with 30 disposals, 8 tackles, 11 clearances and 2 goals proving very productive! Hamish Hartlett across half back showed poise & composure plus hardness at times which was important. Jordon Boyle on the wing ran hard both ways all game and was rewarded with 8 uncontested marks. Callum Park impressed again in his role down back especially his ability to win the ball, the backs generally held up well with Keough, Karpany, Morrish & Hupfeld defending tirelessly. Max Marslen on debut with 3 goals was a nice find and should only get better the more games he plays now.
Norwood next week is a big game as it’s more than likely going to be Jono Beeches 200th outing so what an achievement for the stalwart of our footy club. Hopefully everyone will realise the significance of the occasion and pull out a big one to honor him.
