The Westonians AGM was held on Friday the 23rd of November at the West Adelaide Football Club. There were almost 50 Westonians and guests in attendance at a very successful night.
At the AGM it was reported that the Westonians met their budget for the year and have managed to contribute $75,000 in funding toward the club for 2018. A tremendous result in a tough year.
It was great to welcome two new members to the committee. Bernie Conlen premiership hero and club stalwart has joined the committee together with past club President, innovative businessman Richard Sykes. Both are very experienced and well known around the club and will be great additions.
It was a great pleasure to also recognize two long serving members of the committee with Life Membership.
Tony Davidson was a member of the committee for over 15 years and served as President for 2. Together with serving as Vice President for at least 6 years. His drive and enthusiasm for the Westonians helped make it what it is today.
Graeme Barton has served on the committee for over 12 years and was President for 10 years. He has worked tirelessly over this time to keep the Westonians profitable and relevant to the club. The Westonians throughout his time in control donated an incredible amount of cash and capital works to the club. Throughout this time his wife Fay, whether serving on the committee or in the background has also helped the club greatly.
After the official proceedings the members of the club enjoyed a beautiful meal created by our new kitchen.
The highlight fro the evening was probably the ample tasting of Rusden Wines. It was a pleasure to have Dennis & Christian Canute speak to us about their wines as we went through their list.
In all it was a great night.
Next year we look forward to more members joining as we look forward to celebrating success throughout the club.
Matthew Matschoss, Westonians President
