2018 Signings and Recruits


The West Adelaide Football Club is thrilled to announce the return of Jonathon Beech for the 2018 and 2019 season.

Originally from Barmera in the Riverland, Jono has played 129 games for Westies and has kicked 148 goals. Jono played in the 2015 premiership before being rookie drafted by the Adelaide Football Club months later. Jono played three games for the Crows but was delisted after the 2017 season.

Jono displays all the characteristics that we admire at the West Adelaide Football Club and we are delighted to have him back at Richmond.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce that Aaron Fielke will go on to play his 12thseason with the Bloods in 2018.

Aaron is an amazing club man and is a great success story, having relocated from Loxton North in the Riverland. Aaron became a player life member and reached the 150 game milestone in season 2017. He has now played 163 games for Westies and kicked 153 goals. Aaron’s pressure on the ball, second efforts and one percenters are second to none.

Aaron is really looking forward to playing under new coach Gavin Colville and is excited to get started with the 2018 season.


Neil Kerley Medallist Jason Porplyzia will don the red and black guernsey in 2018. After the personal disappointment of 2016 and 2017, Jason still has the fire in the belly to go around again and have an impact in 2018.


Key forward Mason Middleton has put pen to paper and signed for season 2018. Mason is one of the best contested marks in the competition and we are very excited to have him in the red and black.


Brett Turner has also signed on with the Bloods for season 2018. Brett had some exciting moments in 2017 and we look forward to his continued development in season 2018.


After an injury-interrupted 2017 Lachlan Peter is looking for a better season in 2018. Bloods fans are hoping for more goals like the Round 2 goal against the Eagles.


Up and coming ruckman Chol Majok will play on again for the Bloods in 2018. Chol showed some exciting glimpses during League games in 2017. Chol is looking forward to playing more senior football next season.


Lachlan Evans, who was the most improved player in the reserves side in 2017, has signed for 2018 and we hope he continues to develop into a League player next year along with his brother Jack, a dual Bob Lee Memorial Trophy winner in 2016 and 2017. No doubt Jack will be looking for more League opportunities next season.


Under 18 and reserves player Jakob Heitmann who won the 2016 Jake Watson Memorial Trophy has signed for 2018. Jakob has shown some good signs of being a future West Adelaide League player and we look forward to seeing his career develop further.


The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the recruitment of Lyndon Hupfeld.

Lyndon has played the past two seasons with the Norwood Football Club after relocating from the GWS Academy.

Lyndon is 192 cms and 90 kgs, can play as a key forward or key back and has had AFL club interest in the past.

In 2015 Lyndon represented the NSW/ACT in the TAC Cup competition and represented NSW in the National Championships the same year. The club is certainly excited to have Lyndon in the red and black and look forward to him playing some strong football for us in the future.

Nick Favretto has also re-signed for 2018. Nick certainly displayed more consistency with his game in 2017, playing most of the season in the league side.

He is looking for a big preseason to consolidate his position in the league side in 2018.


Zac Bates has signed for season 2018. This is Zac’s second year back at the club after spending time on Geelong’s list.

Zac is hoping his injury concerns are behind him, so he can play a full season in the Blood’s Guernsey, displaying the speed and skill that caught the eye of Geelong while he played here a as a junior.


The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of ruck/forward Daniel “Spider” Webb for season 2018.

Daniel had an injury interrupted year in 2017 but has already begun preseason training for 2018.

Daniel is a 2015 premiership player, who has played 121 West Adelaide matches and kicked 82 goals.

With an injury free run, Daniel will certainly make a difference to the West Adelaide side.


The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Tyler McPherson for season 2018.

Season 2017 highlighted the potential of Tyler McPherson. Playing against a number of established SANFL ruckman, Tyler did a great job at such a young age to give West Adelaide first use of the ball.

The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Aaron Anderson for season 2018.

After missing 2016 following an ACL injury and then the first part of 2017 travelling overseas for work, Aaron will be virtually a new recruit for the club in 2018.

Aaron played his junior football at the Edwardstown Football Club, but lives close to the oval and has red and black pumping through his veins.


The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announced that Shannon Green has signed on for another year with the Bloods.

Shannon has been part of the Football Club since under 18’s and made his league debut in 2007. Shannon is a 3 time leading goal kicker and strong defender, he is also a member of the senior leadership group. Shannon is an integral part of the West Adelaide Football Club, playing in the 2015 Premiership.


The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announced that Hugh Haysman has signed on for another year with the Bloods.

Hugh is an integral part of the West Adelaide Football Club, playing in the 2015 Premiership. Hugh made his debut in 2015 after being a part of our junior program.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Riverland product Jonty Inglis. Jonty has played a number of reserves games for the club and is keen to break into the league side in 2018.

Jonty has been involved in west Adelaide program since under 13’s and It has been great to see him develop and progress through the ranks.


The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announced that Josh Schiller has signed for another year with the Bloods.

Josh’s work rate around the ground and inside work at stoppages is certainly not lost on everyone at West Adelaide, and he is possibly the most underrated footballer in the SANFL. Josh has polled well in the last few Neil Kerley Medals and we are sure he will do so again in 2017. This highlights how much we value Josh at the bloods and it is great to have him in the red and black again next year.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce that Josh Stevens has re-signed for season 2018.

Josh who made his debut this season, has shown plenty of promise after progressing through our junior ranks. A left footer who is an accurate kick for goal and works well around stoppages.

We look forward to seeing Josh progress further in season 2018.


Most Bloods supporters would remember Brad Fisher playing in seasons 2011 and 2012. Brad is still in regular touch while continuing to play country footy in Victoria for Dalyston.

Recently, Brad introduced us to Kyle Kirk from Dalyston. After meeting Kyle, Jason and I soon realized he is a person of great character, enthusiasm and keenness to develop his football further.

Kyle is 20 years of age and is described as a small inside tackling machine. Kyle can also move up forward where he can kick goals. Off field Kyle is studying to be a teacher and will transfer his study on his arrival.

We look forward to having Kyle as part of the Bloods team from 2018.


The West Adelaide Football club is pleased to announce the signing of Jack Agostino for season 2018. Originally from Renmark, Jack has progressed through the Elite Development Program and the Centre Of Excellence to establish himself as a key player in our league side. It is great having Jack, a strong, dashing defender, signed for 2018.


The Adelaide Crows may have a forward named Tom Lynch, but West Adelaide also has a red haired Tom Lynch who has played a very promising season in the reserves. Tom has been named as an emergency for the league side a number of times throughout season 2017. Our Tom Lynch has today signed for season 2018 with the aim of breaking into the league side. Tom’s father is a 200 game player for the Eagles and Tom, who started as a junior at Sturt, says he certainly feels like City Mazda Stadium is his home.

West Adelaide are pleased to announce the signing of Dustin head for the 2018 season.

Dustin worked so hard to make his debut this season during round 18 v Glenelg.

With a full preseason we are all hoping for bigger and better things from Dustin.

Originally from the Mallee Club Border Downs Tintinara Dustin is certainly a true West Adelaide player.


West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announced that 2015 premiership player Errin Wasley Black has signed on for season 2018. Errin has become an integral part of our league side and his penetrating kick is a real asset. Originally from Alice Springs Errin was recruited from NT thunder and we are pleased that Errin is making West Adelaide his home.


Chris Burgess has signed with the West Adelaide Football Club for the next two years. Chris came to Westies as a come and try player from Flinders Park a few weeks before the 2015 season. Mark Mickan assessed him as having the potential to play league football in the next few years. Chris has excelled past our expectations and has been playing some fantastic football. He has been playing a key defensive role and is able to take strong contested marks. His skills widened further when he kicked three goals in our final game of the season against Glenelg.

It’s great to have Chris in the Bloods guernsey for the next two years.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Logan Hill.

Logan has signed for another season with the Bloods and has played an extremely fantastic standard of football in season 2017. His leadership on and off the field will be extremely valuable.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Kenny Karpany.

Upcoming star Ken Karpany has signed a two year deal for seasons 2018 and 2019 with the bloods. Kenny has shown some outstanding form at times during season 2017 and is certainly a promising player of the future.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Kaine Stevens.

This will be Kaine’s fifth year at the club. he has certainly become an important part of the bloods team and it will be great to have Kaine on board in 2018.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Matt Eastman for season 2018.

Matt comes to us from the East Coast Eagles in the AFL Sydney Premier Division.

Matt was previously part of a GWS Academy group and is wanting to play at the highest level possible in the hope of getting drafted in the future. Matt has 6 months to complete his plumbing apprenticeship and through our good friend Mark Buhagiar of PEER we are able to transfer the continuation of Matt’s apprenticeship in Adelaide.

We are looking forward to having Matt in Blood’s colors next season.


The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce that defender Tom Keough has signed for season 2018 and 2019. Tom is certainly a great leader at our club and is looked up to by many of the boys.

“I’m really excited about where the club is heading, we have a great group of players who are eager to improve.”

“This year has had its challenges but I think the boys have stuck together really well and are looking forward to finishing off the year on a high and taking that into 2018”

Originally from Pinnaroo in the Mallee, Tom has been a part of West Adelaide since his junior years. Tom played a key role in the 2015 premiership and the entire season. He was rookie drafted by the Gold Coast Suns in the 2015 draft but after a bad run with injuries he was delisted and came back to West Adelaide.

It is great having such a hardworking and genuine player and person like Tom in the red and black for the next two years.
