The West Adelaide Football Club would like to congratulate Kenny Karpany on receiving the Riverland Naidoc sportsperson of the year.
“Kenny is establishing himself as a regular member of the WAFC league side. To reach this achievement Ken has had to relocate to Adelaide where he has found his own job and rents his own property. After Under 15’s Ken was sent back to the Riverland to work on the defensive side of his game. He did that and played in our Under 17 carnival side 2 years ago. Ken then played in our Under 18 side.
Now Ken is one of the clubs leaders in achieving a high number of 1 per-centers outlined by the coaching staff.” Riverland Naidoc Planning Committee
The West Adelaide Football Club would also like to congratulate Under 16 assistant coach Sam Mitchell on receiving the Riverland Naidoc Community Person of the year.
“Sam does some amazing work with the youth in the Riverland. Through his connections with the West Adelaide Football Club, Sam has provided numerous football opportunities for the youth of the region. The Riverland is such an important part of the West Adelaide Football Club and Sam has helped direct a number of the clubs programs in the region and assisted in the development of a number of young footballers in the region.
Sam extended his relationship with the West Adelaide Football Club by his coaching in the Under 16 program and his involvement in our “Becoming a Responsible Footballer Day “where he led a session on cultural competencies.” Riverland Naidoc Planning Committee
